JoJoe and The Crowded Bus Band

JoJoe, a Jamaican-born vocalist/rapper/entertainer, now based in Montreal is one of the dominant forces on the reggae music scene.  He has shared the stage with reggae artists Burning Spear, Sugar Minott, Richie Stevens, The Mighty Diamonds, Freddie McGregor, Beres Hammond, Culture, Marcia Griffiths, Calton Coffie and many more.

JoJoe has also given his support to various organizations for events such as Jamaica Day (Montreal Jamaica Association), Trinidad and Tobago Day, Les Nuits d’Afriques, The Montreal International Reggae Festival, Pop Montreal and The Caravan Organization.

His debut CD, self-titled JoJoe, a beautifully catchy collection of songs, rose on the Galaxy charts and has received great reviews from Rupert Bottenberg (Montreal Mirror), Duke Eatmon (CBC Radio) and Egbert Gaye (Community Contact).

One of the songs titled “Things Mi Used To Do” was featured in the film “Revival Blues” by renowned Canadian director Claude Gagnon.  Another selection from the CD, titled “All of Them”, was also on a compilation CD including Alpha Blondy and Maria De Barros.

JoJoe is a constant performer and is accompanied by his 4-5 piece band (Crowded Bus).  JoJoe and the Crowded Bus band perform songs in “patois” the local Jamaican dialect.  The repertoire includes hit songs from legendary reggae performers Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and others.

JoJoe has also collaborated with other artists such as Josh (Universal), Trinidadian top musician and pannist Martin Albino,  Mellow Mood compilation projects, Wet Kiss Production with artist Angel Q and KNTL Productions.
